Archaeologists from Varna uncovered medieval treasure

One the most precious medieval treasures was discovered by archaeologists from Varna during their excavations in the medieval city Kastritsi in Evksinograd on 4th of August 2010. Archaeologists discovered 166 silver coins, stored in a pottery. The treasure was hidden under the ground in one of the dwellings in the medieval fortress and the vase is considered to date back to 14th century. Historians confirmed that silver coins date back from the reign of the king Ivan Alexander and his son Michael. Remnants of dishes and swords were also found. The treasure is attractive one and undoubtedly it is one of the greatest medieval findings in 2010.
