Baroness Catherine Ashton impressed by Bulgaria’s stand at Expo 2010

Baroness Catherine Ashton, a High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, has expressed her satisfaction with Bulgaria’s stand at the World Expo in Shanghai. ‘Congratulations for the beautiful Bulgaria- one splendid country, a proud member of EU. ‘ , she wrote in the guest book.
The manager of Bulgaria’s stand, Mrs. Koleva from International Fair Plovdiv, said that Mrs. Ashton has been particularly attracted by the exhibits, depicting masterpieces of the gold Thracian treasures.’ The guest received a gift-7 copies of applications of the Thracian treasure in Letnitsa.
A house from the Revival period has also attracted Mrs. Ashton’s attention. She was impressed by the carpets, pitchers and the spinning-wheel. The presence of Mrs.Ashton marked the beginning of a series of visits of important persons. Nearly 15 000 people visit Bulgaria’s exposition every day. It has been arranged by a team of International Fair Plovdiv. Apart from the tourist flow, many businessmen and institutions also attend Bulgaria’s stand. Therefore, the country has the chance to build some new business relationships. Official representatives of Turkey, Austria, Czech republic, Poland and Georgia have discussed with their Bulgarian colleagues opportunities for business relationships.
