Four major European TV Channels will air ad spots for Bulgarian Tourism
Bulgarian tourism will be promoted by four leading European channel Eurosport, Euronews, National Geographic Channel and Discovery Channel, announced Bulgaria’s representatives. The funding for the advertising amounts to BGN 7,5 M and will be provided under the EU operational program "Regional Development".
Bulgaria will be promoted as a winter and summer tourist destination in three ad spots. They will be aired more than 3000 times within two ad campaigns on the four major EU TV channels. The first campaign is scheduled to start from 6th September until 26th of December 2010 and the other from 31st of January - until 27th of March 2011. Additional ad materials will be presented at the websites of the four TV channels.
The advertising campaign aims at informing more than 608 million households worldwide about opportunities for holidays in Bulgaria. The main focus of the campaign will not only the opportunities for a vacation in Bulgaria, but also cultural and historical monuments, as well as the beautiful nature. Ad spots will be translated in five languages - Bulgarian, English, German, French and Russian. The 30-second ad videos will be aired in the prime times. According to the official figures, the number of overnights by foreigners has been increased by 3,6% in the second quarter of 2010 compared to the same period last year. Almost all foreign holidaymakers (99.1%) booked a hotel in Bulgaria.
