The Director of Kazanluk Museum “Iskra”, Kosio Zarev announced that in depth research in the famous Valley of Thracian kings will begin in 2009.

Well-experienced Kazanluk Museum experts will also start working on the northern side of “Sredna Gora” as the area is still poorly researched by archaeologists.

The archaeologist Diana Dimitrova and her team will continue investigations of the mound “Goliama Kosmatka” in April 2009, as it is hoped that ancient Thracian settlement will emerge the already discovered tomb of Seuthes III.

Excavations for the revelation of Thracian settlement will begin after more than 10 halt. It is believed that there are several places in the area where remains of such antique settlement might be discovered.
