40% increase in Russians visiting Bulgaria in 2010

The Bulgarian Foreign Affairs Ministry has reported a surge in the number of Russian holidaymakers visiting Bulgaria and spending their summer holidays in the country this year, a media statement revealed on August 16 2010.
Reportedly, the increase amounts to 40 per cent more Russian nationals visiting Bulgaria.
Consulates in Moscow, St Petersburg, Ekaterinburg, and Novosibirsk have accounted for a total of 262 078 visas to date, or a 40 per cent increase on the same period in 2009.
In Moscow alone 200 000 visas were issued, the report said.
