Romanians are the second largest group of tourists in Varna city

Bulgaria’s sea capital Varna has announced official figures, regarding the summer season 2010. Unfortunately, the number of overnights in Varna hotels has decreased by 0.3% compared to the same period in 2009. The decrease is caused by the number of overnights of Bulgarians. On the other hand, foreign tourists like visiting Bulgaria’s seaside capital and respectively their number has increased by 2.2% compared to the second quarter of 2009. Figures show that Germans are the largest group of tourists who spend their holiday in Varna city/ over 218 000 overnights/, followed by Russia-190 000 overnights, Romania- more than 155 000, Poland-37 000, Israel-25 000, UK- 20 000.
The occupancy registered in Varna hotels in the second quarter of 2010 is 26.6% which means 0.1% more than 2009. Municipality Varna registers a revenue for the second quarter of 2010 for the amount of 38 495 607 BGN.
