Comment: It was our first trip to Bulgaria and we were quite apprehensive given the mixed reviews we had read about the resort. However, our worries were unfounded, our accommodation in the The Castle Apartments was first class. The rooms large and very clean, great showers and plenty of hot water, the towels were changed 3 times during the week with maid service cleaning the rooms every day. There was an extensive menu available in the restaurant but given that we were staying on a half board basis we ate from a set menu. Although the choice was limited we enjoyed all of our meals. At our first meal the food was luke warm, which is traditional in Bulgaria, but when we said we liked our food hot the staff ensured our food was hot every night thereafter. We found the staff to be very pleasant and helpful, especially Chris in the restaurant. Although these apartments were on a ski run we used the bus to the ski centre (10 mins) which ran on time every day. There was much less snow than usual for this time of the year but we managed to ski every day and apart from a couple of scary places we really enjoyed our week, the scenery really is very beautiful.
