Comment: On arrival we were greeted with a curtious welcome but to our dismay we were alocated a 4th floor room. With small children and a previous request through the tour operator to have a lower floor we were not impressed, but checked the room anyway. The balcony had inadaquate edge protection so we requested at once a lower floor which in all honesty the staff were very helpful and granted our request within hours.
Again the pool loungers were reserved (as early as 12:30 am) by sun worshippers who lacted consideration for families with small children and made parents take back seat supervision of their children, oh and they also show their disgust at being splashed by the kids at the kiddies pool.
Breakfast was of poor quality with half cooked meat and eggs, guests had to trample over each other to get a fair share.
Entertainment became repetitive with same act every night singing the same songs, however the caberet was a bit more entertaining.
The pool bar staff were very friendly and always made you feel welcome which is more than can be said for the manageress, who not only treats her staff like dirt but will speak to the quests staying at the hotel in an intolerable manner, this woman needs serious people skills.
In a whole the grenada complex was very clean the rooms are very good but as for location if your looking to be able to retreat to a peaceful setting away from the busy resort centre you may think again because the grenada has the noisiest entertainment in its location.

Comment: Just arrived back from Sunny Beach..hotel itself was lovely -room service 24hrs. The maid came everyday and had a clean up for us. Beds changed once weekly which wasnt that bad. No charge for air conditioning which was a plus as weather was hot. Might mention..the hotels website states on the is about 200 meters to the beach- then a wooden path leads you over the sand dunes to the main sandy beach. The hotel boasts most rooms with seaviews but I think there is about 20 that may have a sea view, most of them have a pool view. The advert and pictures doesnt show that at the other side of the pool where I thought and most other people probably will is the in fact another hotel called Delta Beach and Delta Palace. The main resort is approx 2 miles away but can be reached by the frequent small trains which run about every 15 mins, start at 9am and finish midnight. Cost is 3 levs each. Under 2's free. Season slowing down now, some restaurants, bars etc closing..didnt think it would be as expensive as it is. The only thing we found cheap was the local beer..approx 50p a pint and the cigs £3.50 for 20. Everything else is about the same as here.

Comment: Stayed at the Grenada in Sunny Beach in Aug 07. Weather was absolutely fab. Hotel is about 3 km from resort centre which we were happy with as resort gets very noisy and busy. Bus and trains very regular and cheap so used them quite a lot as had small kids. Hotel was very clean and modern. Nice layout. Stayed on BB basis and found breakfast only ok. Food ran short couple of mornings and also ran out of cups. Was told they didnt have any more when asked for some. I presume that meant clean ones. This happened a couple of times. We also had a problem with leaking pipes in our bathroom which meant the floor was constantly wet. Bathroom seemed to be a bit of a problem for us as we had to call reception twice. Once for a terrible smell, I mean stomach churning, coming from a drain in the floor and second time our hot water tank stopped working. Both times they responded fairly quickly and fixed the problems. Although we did have to phone twice about the hot water. Age old story of towels on sun loungers a HUGE problem. We were surprised as most other places we stayed, Spain etc seem to have a handle on this these days. We have young kids and most of the loungers around the shallow end of the pool
( as well as the rest of it) were already taken with towels early in the morning by, hate to say it, Germans. Most of who appeared to be in their late 50's and seemed to be annoyed by the splashing of kids around shallow end! Even though had couple of problems with plumbing etc would go back to hotel as we thought location was great and it really was a nice hotel.
