Comment: The faded grandeur of this 1980s monument to marble and wood panelling added to the enjoyment of our stay. The expense of maintaining this loveable dinosaur is clearly defeating the owners, but there was little to complain about in our spacious deluxe room. Add to this some spectacular views and a parkland setting and you have the basis for a relaxing and memorable holiday. We didn't spot anyone taking the treatments and the indoor pool is definitely showing its age, but the small outdoor pool is warm and welcoming with panoramic views from the deep end. The breakfasts are startlingly and rigidly repetitive until the weekend buffet permits a degree of peronal creativity. Give it a try; where else could you park next to a Henry Moore sculpture?
